Better known as the Brighton Belle Pullman units(5 BEL, 5 Car brighton BELle), a couple of RTR models have been available over the years.

The first model was made by Wren in various liveries. The second model is by Hornby and was made available in 1934, 1960 and 1967 liveries.

Marc Models has produced a RTR and version and kit of the 5 BEL. MTK, Phoenix-Precision and Electrifying Trains have also produced kits.

I opted for the 1960 Pullman Umber and Cream livery Hornby model. The unit is number 3052 and consists of cars 90 and 91. Centre trailer cars were also made, but have since become quite expensive and rare. These were cars 87, Vera and Audrey.

The model looks the part but does have some minor inaccuracies. I hadn't fitted the stencil number, which is '4', indicating a Victoria-Brighton fast service, which of course the Brighton Belle was, or added the roof boards when I took the photograph. Unfortunately the stencil indicator does not light up, but the table lamps do!

All in all, a nice looking model. Now to find some reasonably priced centre cars!
