Class 419 MLV

Class 419 MLV (Motor Luggage Van). Bachmann have produced a RTR model of the CLass 419 Motor Luggage Van. They are available in Plain Green, Green with Small Yellow Panel, Blue/Grey, Jaffa Cake, Network South East and Royal Mail liveries.

I have the green version with small yellow panels. What a super little model this is. Bachmann certainly seem to have a knack with multiple units. I find it difficult to criticise this model as everything about it seems just right. I'm sure there are some detail inaccuracies, but they don't bother me overly. Performance is smooth and precise.

I fitted a DCC decoder to the model, in this case a Hattons DCR21 6 Function. A bit overkill as the model only has working head and tail lamps. However, it was spare as I had inadvertently bought the chip for a Dapol Class 21!

Marc Models has produced a RTR and kit versions of this class. MTK, MJT and Southern Pride Models have all produced kits.
